EXPERT WITNESS
Whilst CAPCIS' original intention was to assist industry in the prevention of losses, much of our work has involved assisting clients after losses and incidents and in relation to disputes. Familiar with the requirements of CPR, we are fully aware of our duty to the Courts in respect of expert evidence. Our strong capability including expertise and experience in the suitability of materials, components and structures and our knowledge of operational and environmental aspects provides an ideal base from which to assess relevant aspects of losses and disputes.

Comprehensive capabilities include:-

  • Review of available information to identify relevant factors
  • Identification, provision and enabling of experts
  • Identification of information required to assess relevant aspects
  • Assessment of suitability, conformance with order/specification based on review of available information
  • Rapid mobilisation to sites worldwide to assess the suitability of components and structures, the causes of loss and damage, the extent of damage and to provide recommendations for remedial and preventative measures
  • The provision of oral evidence at courts, arbitrations and inquiries

Whilst some investigations attract public interest and media attention, CAPCIS carries out all work in full confidentiality unless specifically instructed otherwise by the client.

Able to provide impartial expert advice, CAPCIS can provide individual experts to supply assistance in specific areas or identify and enable multidisciplinary teams able to deal with the most complex issues. CAPCIS is able to deal promptly with clients requirements, providing a single point for identification, provision and enabling of experts in many industry related science, engineering and technology areas.

CAPCIS' core expertise and experience in the reliability and optimisation of structures and processes is extensively enhanced by our strong links with The University of Manchester and other consultancy organisations.
