CHALLENGE:
INTEGRITY ASSURANCE
In order to provide an efficient and safe operational environment for both onshore and offshore ageing and new facilities a robust integrity management system is required to ensure that degradation due to corrosion is controlled.
Changing ownership and the drive for new reserves has resulted in shared infrastructure and commingled operations, which have necessitated the requirement for an improved understanding of asset condition and a greater strategic approach to integrity management. As platforms change hands and operators seek extensions to the original field life the condition and performance of corrosion protection equipment on the platform structures, to protect against the sea water environment, moves beyond 'install and maintain' into remediate and rehabilitation.
CAPCIS provides clients with an alternative but complimentary approach to Integrity Management focussed at assets with challenging production chemistries and dynamic operating environments. Acting in co-operation with the client and associated integrity/inspection and chemical treatment providers, CAPCIS takes an Integrity Assurance role that;
- Audits existing facilities to identify gaps and highlight high risk areas under current operations,
- Assesses future risks to the facility based on predictive modelling,
- Develops integrity management documentation and upgrades existing strategy,
- Designs and implements commercial and bespoke integrity management systems.
Formulating client specific philosophy and strategy documentation that consider each operators corporate operational policies and risk profile, enables the development of strategies that can be implemented locally and comply with overall corporate policy. Examples of such documentation include Pipeline Operations Manuals, Corrosion Management Strategy and Sand Management Strategy documentation.
Using commercial and bespoke software CAPCIS develop data management solutions that enable integration of disparate data and information within the Operator's organisation. This enables a robust assessment of the current condition of the asset to be made, identifying the risks associated with key business issues such as extended life. This approach provides the client with the necessary rationale and confidence on which to make key strategic decisions and identifies the timing of future investment requirements. It can also provide a firm basis on which to push out inspection frequencies for critical equipment items or develop comprehensive Written Schemes of Examination Systems to be embedded within Operators business practices.
Underpinning the philosophy, strategy and system development is a need to fully understand the risks associated with current operations; carrying out a site audit and gap analysis ensures that CAPCIS can fully understand the client operations and requirements.
