STRAYCALC
The product of a 3-year research programme in conjunction with the University of Manchester ’s Electrical Energy and Power Systems Group, StrayCalc is a mix of methods and software to model the stray current interactions of dc rail systems under dynamic operation. Applied in conjunction with static models for geometrically correct representations of stations, tunnels, depots and associated infrastructure, StrayCalc provides the opportunity for:
- Impact assessment on railway and third party assets
- Design analysis for stray current collection systems
- Audit and verification of third party design
- Design verification
- Realistic target setting for construction validation programmes
